Sales Tax Policy
Effective Date: October 23, 2026
At Trailer Tales LLC, we strive to provide clear and transparent pricing information for our customers. Sales tax and other applicable taxes may vary depending on the customer’s location, the product purchased, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
This Sales Tax Policy explains how applicable taxes may be handled for purchases made through Trailer Tales LLC.
1. General Sales Tax Information
Sales tax may apply to purchases of trailers, shipping containers, portable restrooms, and other taxable products or services sold by Trailer Tales LLC.
The amount of tax, if any, depends on factors including:
- Customer location
- Delivery location
- Type of product or service
- Applicable state and local tax laws
- Whether Trailer Tales LLC is required to collect tax in the applicable jurisdiction
- Whether the customer qualifies for a valid tax exemption
Applicable taxes will be calculated and collected when required by law.
2. Tax Calculation
When applicable, sales tax may be calculated based on the taxable purchase price and the applicable tax rate for the transaction.
The tax rate may vary depending on the delivery or billing location and applicable state and local requirements.
The final tax amount applicable to an order will be presented during the purchasing process or communicated to the customer before the transaction is completed.
3. Delivery and Sales Tax
For products that are delivered, the delivery destination may affect whether sales tax applies and which tax rate is applicable.
This may be particularly relevant for:
- Trailers
- Shipping containers
- Portable restrooms
- Large equipment
- Delivery-related services
Customers are responsible for providing accurate billing and delivery information so that applicable taxes can be calculated correctly.
4. States and Local Jurisdictions
Sales tax requirements vary across the United States.
Trailer Tales LLC may be required to collect sales tax in certain states or local jurisdictions where applicable.
The tax treatment of a particular purchase may depend on the customer’s location, the type of product purchased, and applicable laws at the time of sale.
5. Tax-Exempt Purchases
Customers who qualify for a valid tax exemption may be able to purchase certain products without sales tax when permitted by applicable law.
To request tax-exempt treatment, customers may be required to provide appropriate documentation, such as a valid resale certificate or other exemption certificate recognized by the applicable taxing authority.
A customer should not assume that an order is tax-exempt without receiving confirmation from Trailer Tales LLC.
6. Resale Certificates
Customers purchasing products for resale may be required to provide a valid resale certificate or other documentation before tax-exempt treatment can be applied.
The documentation must be valid and applicable to the transaction and jurisdiction.
Trailer Tales LLC may decline to treat a purchase as tax-exempt if required documentation is incomplete, invalid, expired, or otherwise insufficient.
7. Tax-Exempt Organizations
Certain nonprofit, governmental, educational, or other organizations may qualify for tax exemptions under applicable law.
Eligibility varies by jurisdiction and organization type.
Organizations requesting tax-exempt treatment should provide appropriate documentation before completing a purchase whenever possible.
8. Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information needed to determine applicable tax treatment.
This may include:
- Billing address
- Delivery address
- Business information
- Tax-exemption documentation
- Resale information
- Other information reasonably required for tax purposes
Providing inaccurate information may result in incorrect tax treatment or additional amounts becoming due.
9. Tax Changes
Tax rates, exemptions, regulations, and collection requirements may change.
Trailer Tales LLC may update tax calculations and procedures as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
A tax rate displayed on a previous order does not guarantee that the same rate will apply to a future purchase.
10. Taxes on Additional Charges
Depending on applicable law, taxes may apply not only to the product itself but also to certain related charges or services.
These may include, where taxable:
- Delivery
- Transportation
- Installation
- Service charges
- Other fees
The taxability of separately purchased services varies by jurisdiction. Original shipping, handling and delivery within the United States are free; this section does not introduce a delivery surcharge.
11. Refunds and Sales Tax
If an order is canceled or refunded, any sales tax refund will generally be handled in accordance with the applicable tax laws and the terms of the underlying transaction.
The amount of tax refunded may depend on the amount refunded and the applicable jurisdiction.
Please review our Returns & Refunds Policy for additional information regarding cancellations and refunds.
12. Tax Documentation
Customers should retain invoices, receipts, exemption certificates, and other transaction documentation for their records.
Trailer Tales LLC may retain transaction and tax information as required for accounting, legal, and regulatory purposes.
13. Questions About Sales Tax
If you have questions about the sales tax applicable to your purchase, contact Trailer Tales LLC before completing your order.
For questions about your personal or business tax obligations, we recommend consulting a qualified tax professional or the applicable state or local taxing authority.

Shipping, Returns and Refunds
Shipping is free on all products delivered within the United States, with no minimum order value and no separate shipping, handling or delivery surcharges. Orders placed before 5:00 PM Eastern Time (America/New_York) Monday–Friday begin processing that business day; orders placed at or after the cutoff, on weekends or public holidays begin the next business day. Handling takes 1–2 business days and transit takes 2–3 business days, for an estimated total of 3–5 business days. Processing, transit and delivery days are Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays.
We accept returns of defective and non-defective products, including change-of-mind returns, and exchanges within 30 calendar days of delivery. New and slightly used products, including opened products, are eligible. Returns are by mail or shipping carrier, with suitable freight transport for large items. Customers arrange and pay for return labels and transport. A 15% restocking fee applies to the product price actually paid, and refunds are completed within 7 calendar days after we receive the returned product, subject to applicable statutory rights. Free outbound shipping does not include free return transportation.
See our Shipping Policy and Refund and Returns Policy for the full procedures. These policies govern shipping and returns if general wording elsewhere on this page differs. Warranty procedures and exclusions do not remove eligibility under the 30-day return policy or any non-excludable consumer rights.
